Shopping Tips
- Whole nuts are often more expensive than those in smaller pieces, so if your recipe calls for chopped pecans/walnuts/peanuts, go ahead and buy them that way. You’ll save money and it will be less work for you!
- Scope-out Asian grocery stores for affordable Sriracha sauce, rice paper wrappers, and dehydrated mushrooms.
Kitchen Tools
Proper tools are essential. I tend to favor a minimalist approach – I don’t need a bunch of gadgets, but I do like good-quality basic items. For more info, visit my Favorite Kitchen Tools page.
DIY – Do It Yourself!
There’s no need to buy expensive store-bought versions of these basic things when they’re so easy to make at home. The other benefit? You’ll know exactly what’s in them!
