Tips & Tricks

Here’s a directory of all the little tips and tricks that I’ve shared within my posts. I’ll be adding to this page every now and then, so stay tuned for new info. Let me know if you have any questions!

Vegan Ingredients

Confused about some of the vegan ingredients mentioned on this site? Check out my Vegan Ingredientsย section for information on what they are and where you can find them.

Shopping Tips

  • Whole nuts are often more expensive than those in smaller pieces, so if your recipe calls for chopped pecans/walnuts/peanuts, go ahead and buy them that way. You’ll save money and it will be less work for you!
  • Scope-out Asian grocery stores for affordable Sriracha sauce, rice paper wrappers, and dehydrated mushrooms.

Kitchen Tools

Proper tools are essential. I tend to favor a minimalist approach – I don’t need a bunch of gadgets, but I do like good-quality basic items. For more info, visit my Favorite Kitchen Tools page.

DIY – Do It Yourself!

There’s no need to buy expensive store-bought versions of these basic things when they’re so easy to make at home. The other benefit? You’ll know exactly what’s in them!

  2. Hi I wanted to make the mango banana ice cream with the chocolate cup. I taped on the link but it took me to a page that said it didnโ€™t exist. Can you please send me the recipe for the ice cream as well as the chocolate cup? I love your recipes and cook from often. Thanks for your time.

  5. Hi. I’ve been doing a carb cycling meal plan for a few weeks now. I like it but would rather not eat as much meat as I’ve been doing. I’ve Googled several times and your website keeps coming up. So I figured I’d check it out. Very impressed with the recipes, photos, and ease of navigation. I’ve downloaded it to my phones homepage. I look forward to learning more. Thank you.

    • Hi Maris – I’m not a certified nutritionist, so unfortunately I’m not able to provide any personal assistance in this area. But my overall rule is to eat less processed food and more fresh foods. The recipes on this site are mostly very healthy and should be a good start. Good luck!
